A long 4WD track to an abandoned gold mining town. The many river crossings mean winter is probably not the best time to do this ride.

Mavora Lakes

Although this track isn’t the most interesting the scenery is absolutely breathtaking!! The 3 huts make it easy to turn into a multi-day trip.

Lake Sumner

A beautiful and easy ride, on gravel and 4wd tracks, that leads to the awesome Hurunui Hut. The amazing scenery more than makes up for the possible blandness of the track.

Konini – Ajax – Murrays

Although this route involves some pushing/carrying the singletrack descent to the Waitahu River makes it very worthwhile.

Hakatere – Boundary Mystery

This route has a lot of different terrain. From flowing 4wd track to unridable bouldery horribleness, to steep untracked death slope and excellent singletrack. This route is a blast!

Lake Hawea Classic

This track is only open for one day a year, during the Lake Hawea race. The track itself isn’t the most interesting with bits of singletrack, gravel road and 4wd track, but the scenery is stunning and the length is challenging.

Flock Hill

4wd and gravel tracks that circumnavigate Broken Hill on the Flock Hill estate. The views are amazing, and a detour can be made to the avoca homestead, Doc hut.
